Howdy everyone, I have been teaching math online and face-to-face at Central Texas College since 2003. Besides teaching math, I am also a daughter, a wife, a mother and a grandmother. I raise blackbelly barbado sheep (a hair variety) and I ride a Harley. Like many of you, I have attended college classes as an adult, so I understand the constraints a family and job can place on students’ time.
I have a B.S. in business management and an M.S. in mathematics, both from Tarleton State University. I am an Army veteran and worked with military intelligence and training while in the military. After nine years in the Army, I spent 11 years as the sales manager for a real estate company. Even though I enjoyed the competitiveness and challenges of the real estate market, my true love is education. I am certified to teach mathematics and special education for grades 1-12 in Texas public schools and taught math at the middle school and high school levels for 13 years before moving up to the college level. My usual college courses include college algebra, elementary statistics and contemporary math.
You might say education is a way of life in my family. I have two sisters and an aunt who are/were teachers. My husband is a professor and department chairperson at Central Texas College and one of our daughters is a middle school math teacher. Math has always been fun for me, especially algebra!
