Department of Nursing and Allied Health Mission Statement

The Department of Nursing and Allied Health provides quality nursing education to the global and local community through an accessible learning environment.

Welcome to the Department of Nursing and Allied Health. Within the department we offer many certificate and/or associate degree options, including Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) and Associate Degree Nursing (ADN).

Our nursing programs are approved by the Texas Board of Nursing and the ADN program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Our EMT/P program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and is one of only 35 accredited programs in the state of Texas. The healthcare programs at Central Texas College have earned a reputation for excellence and students who successfully complete our programs are highly sought for employment.

The faculty and staff within the Department of Nursing and Allied Health are dedicated to the department mission and value the responsibility of preparing students who are capable and committed to the provision of high quality patient care. We accomplish our mission through the use of evidence-based, diverse and interactive classroom, lab and clinical experiences. Our state of the art simulation center allows students to apply knowledge in a vast array of clinical scenarios.

Dedication to the care of others is both an art and a science, combing knowledge and skills with caring and compassion. A career as an EMT, paramedic, or nurse is challenging and rewarding, and one in which there must be a lifelong dedication to learning.  We invite you to begin your lifelong journey with an education provided by the Department of Nursing and Allied Health at Central Texas College.
