The Fine Arts Department offers courses required in degree and certification programs and courses for self improvement.
Students enrolling in the Fine Arts Department must meet general institutional admission requirements.
The Central Texas College Fine Arts Department is housed in the Lady Bird Johnson Fine Arts Building 112. Specialized space includes indoor and outdoor studio work areas, a state-of-the-art lecture room with multimedia capabilities, a piano keyboard lab, grand pianos, piano practice rooms, an auditorium with drama production light
and sound systems and a new computer graphics lab.
Instructional programs are enhanced by on-campus activities in each Fine Arts area:
- Musical performances by guest artists
- Exhibitions and gallery talks by professional visual artists
- Stage productions and readings by drama professionals
- Demonstrations and workshops in all areas

Visual Arts
Central Texas College visual arts students are offered instruction in two dimensional and three dimensional studio courses and in art history and art appreciation.
- Visual Arts students enjoy on-going informal exhibitions of their works in several locations and an annual all-department student show.
- Courses are offered in Visual Arts which lead to an associate's degree in Fine Arts or in Commercial Art, which transfer to corresponding university degree plans.
- Most Visual Arts courses may be taken to satisfy the Humanities/Fine Arts requirement for all degree plans.
Drama
Central Texas College drama students can take advantage of diverse course offering, participate in on-campus productions and enjoy interaction with the Vive les Arts Theater in Killeen.
- Auditions are held several times during the school year for fall and spring productions, which include an annual dimmer theater or musical.
- Drama courses provide introductory acting and theater instruction which transfers to a degree in drama at the university level.
- Drama courses may be taken as electives and to satisfy the Humanities/Fine Arts requirement for all degree plans.
Music
Central Texas College music students can enjoy extensive music program offerings, ensemble participation and individualized instruction in voice or instrument of choice.
- Music students can become a part of several performing groups including CTC Chorus and CTC Band.
- Courses are offered in applied music and theory which lead to an associate's degree in Music, and which transfer to university degree plans.
- Music courses may be taken to satisfy elective and the Humanities/Fine Arts requirement for all degree plans.
