Introduction to Social Media for Enterprise        
Get a quick introduction to social media and Web 2.0 in this class that is specifically geared toward corporations, businesses and organizations.  Learn the basics about the numerous Web 2.0 tools, platforms and media resources that are available online and how they are being used for sharing information and collaborating with others.  Class will include demonstrations of how you can put social tools such as blogs, podcasts, widgets and wikis to work in your organization.  Marcus Carr is the director of the Central Texas Business Resource Center, has a master of education degree and is a fellow entrepreneur who has started four businesses.  (1 meeting)

Grant Proposal Writing for Non-Profit Organizations
Non-profit organizations are facing leaner times making it even harder to secure funding.  Discover the key concepts of grant proposal writing to enhance fund development.  Learn how to develop a grant proposal that will be read and awarded.  Students will develop a basic proposal as part of the class.  Topics include Researching Opportunities, Developing a Budget, Developing an executive Summary, Developing Project Plans for Management, Demonstrating Effectiveness and Methods of Evaluation.  Learn what types of things that need to be included in proposals, tips on language style and how to measure effectiveness of your projects.  Bring $15 for a workbook and a copy of a current proposal for review.  Also bring pen, paper and laptop (if possible).  Koleta Thompson, CFRE, has held non-profit management positions and is a consultant in non-profit management, financial development, public relations, marketing, strategic planning and grant proposal writing. Public speaking is a valuable tool that can give you an edge in the workplace.  Learn techniques to help you harness those annoying stomach butterflies and avoid sweaty-hand syndrome while speaking in front of coworkers or public audiences!  Public speaking is all about finding faith in yourself, telling others what you know and developing a strategy.  Students will write and present a speech in class.  Bring paper, a pen or laptop.  Kimberly Foster is a writer and an award-winning speaker who as performed oral interpretation for years.  (6 meetings)

Everyone is allotted 24 hours a day; how we use it is up to us.  Learn practical ways to be effective and efficient!  Explore strategies that seem to add hours to your day by finding the freedom and flexibility of a well-tuned schedule.  Discover how to distinguish the important from the urgent while rising above your calendar and overcoming delays and interruptions.  Class will also include tips for coordinating multiple tasks, completing assignments on or before deadlines and organizing for easy retrieval of information.  Plan to purchase a workbook (approximately $15) from the instructor.   Mona Dunkin, a professional speaker, trainer and personal success coach, is certified in reality therapy, choice therapy and lead management. (1 meeting)
