Introduction to the Implementation

Colleague Implementation News ?   What's that?

These news items are the first of what will become periodic, bite-sized updates on the Colleague (Datatel) Implementation Project.   To start with, here's a bit of background on where we've come from and where we're at.

•  Colleague? Datatel?   About two years ago, CTC started investigating the purchase of a new, state-of-the-art administrative information system as a result of the district's technology planning process. Through a thorough search process, CTC selected the vendor Datatel and its system "Colleague" to meet our administrative information system needs.

•  So what is Colleague?   Colleague is a system of programs that allow CTC to track and process huge amounts of information in relation to all of our constituencies: Students, Faculty and Staff. In a nutshell, Colleague will allow us to do a much better job in a more efficient manner, delivering the excellent service our students, faculty and staff have come to expect from CTC.

•  Although CTC is already "live" on most of the Financial System of Colleague, we still have to implement the Student and Human Resources systems.

•  Over the next few weeks we'll outline some of the various Colleague "modules" that CTC will be implementing.

So for now, just be on the lookout for the next exciting chapter chronicling CTC's journey into Colleague.
