ENGL 2328
American Literature II
Course Description: A survey of American literature beginning with Walt Whitman and ending with selected major writers from the present. Although careful attention is given to the historical, social, and intellectual developments that gave rise to the literature, the emphasis is on the individual selections themselves as outstanding expressions of our American literary heritage. The course employs critical reading, thinking, and writing skills in the analysis of a wide variety of selected readings. Prerequisites: ENGL 1301 and 1302, or equivalent, with an earned course grade of "C" or above.
