Bio

Mr. Coleman has been teaching computers at CTC since 1989 when he started as a part-time instructor, he became full-time in 1995.

Mr. Coleman started off with a deep interest in programming in Pascal and Dbase IV both of which are basically the programming world's equivalent of Latin, another dead language. His interests shifted into the administrative side of software such as word processors, spreadsheets, and databases.

In 1978 Mr. Coleman bought his first computer, a TRS-80 Model I, Level II. The TRS-80 had a 20MB hard drive, which for the time was large. Mr. Coleman never thought he'd be able to fill it with the tiny programs of the day.

Mr. Coleman's love of, and ability with, math while growing up made the move to computers the next "logical" step when they came along.

While in the military, Mr. Coleman did some teaching unrelated to computers and he enjoyed it. When he retired and returned to school at CTC, some of his professors inspired him to go into the field where he was able to combine his interest in computers with his enjoyment of teaching.
