Bio

Ms. Oser has been working with computers since she was 13 years old. In the most loose sense of the term, she has been "teaching" as long as she has been working with computers. She's always been rather adept with computers. She enjoys working with both software and hardware but she tends to favor Networking. Ms. Oser tries to stay away from programming, even though she is skilled and enjoys it. Her reluctance to be involved with programming stems from her perfectionist nature and not being able to stop "making it better". She says, "I imagine that if I were employed as a programmer I would die of dehydration and starvation simply because I won't stop until it is perfect."

Her very first computer was a Commodore 64 which had a 13" color TV for a monitor. Throughout middle and high school, her Commodore assisted her with the production of many school assignments through the use of the word processing software called "The Write Stuff". She played numerous games on her Commodore using only a command line interface. LOAD "program", 8, 1 was a common command. When Windows came out and 3.5" floppies as opposed to the 5¼" floppies she didn't think it could get any better. As she says, "Little did I know..."

Ms. Oser began at CTC as a lab assistant and Project PASS instructor, and now an Instructor. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with others and has found it to be very rewarding. She comments, "While I typically do not have a plethora of patience, I have learned to channel my perseverance into patience that serves both myself and those I am teaching well."
