Because we have various ongoing and planned
projects on and around the main campus in Killeen, this site is intended

Administration Building

Description: Construction of canopies at all building entrances is currently in progress to enhance weather protection and improve the appearance of the building.
Status: 9/30/2008: 95% complete

Water Tower

Description: Consistent
with our latest Campus Master Plan, this project is one of three
initiated to improve our Campus water service. The tower will maintain
200,000 gallons and connect to the campus water loop, providing appropriate
pressure to the system.
Status: 8/21/2008: The contractor is currently clearing project deficiencies.

Water Project: Waterlines

Description: New
water lines are being installed to support the development of a water
loop system which will improve our water distribution.
Status: 9/30/2008 95% complete

Water Project: Pumping Station

Description: The pump station is currently being constructed just west of the duck pond and north of the Administration Building. The third part of our water improvement effort, two 250 GPM pumps are being installed to ensure appropriate water volume and pressure is applied to the water loop.

Road Construction

Description: The new road construction through the old Fort Hood utility corridor will allow us to route traffic around, instead of through, the Campus. The portion of Academic Drive that passes in front of the Student Center will eventually be permanently closed. The corridor parking lot will be adjusted
and resurfaced to allow the new road to pass through.

CTC Nursing Building

Description: Currently we are planning to construct a new 85,000 square-foot classroom building to support the CTC nursing program and provide lease space for Tarleton State University–Central Texas and Metroplex Hospital. The Nursing Program will occupy 35,000 square feet of classrooms, labs, and office space. The building will be placed west of the current Tarleton parking lot on University Drive.
Status: 9/30/08: Planning is in progress and expected to be complete by January 2009. Construction is estimated to begin in March 2009.

Fort Hood Campus Classroom Building

Description: Planning is in progress for the construction of a new classroom building for the Fort Hood Campus. The structure will be 26,000 square feet, containing 23 classrooms and be placed on leased property directly adjacent and north of our existing CTC Administration/classroom building 3201.
Status: 9/30/08: Project is out for October 22, 2008 bid closing date.

Student Center Renovation/New Construction

Description: We are in the early stages of planning for a complete renovation of the existing Student Center, building 106, and the construction of a new facility to be placed on the existing Student Center parking lot. The new structure will eventually become the new Student Center. All Food Service activities will move to the new facility along with the Bookstore. A new Board room will be created on the second level, as well as new meeting and event spaces.
Status: 9/30/08: Planning for the new structure is estimated to be complete in early 2009. The renovation planning will complete the latter part of 2009.
