| Ribbon Cutting - Green Umbrella Project

CTC celebrates the completion of the Green Umbrella Project with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 3 at 10 a.m. The Green Umbrella Project is the construction of an energy-efficient house known as S.A.M. (sustainable, modular, affordable) which features many forms of high-efficiency, renewable energy systems and building techniques. The event will take place on-site between the Planetarium (Bldg. 152) and the Human Resources office (Bldg. 103). It is open to all employees, students and the public. |

| CTC Classic Tennis Tournament (Multi-Day Event)

The annual CTC Classic Tennis Tournament will be held May 4-5 at the CTC tennis courts next to the gym. The event is open to the public. Entry divisions are 3.0 (beginner), 3.5 (intermediate) and 4.0 (advanced) in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Junior players (age 17 and below) can enter the Junior Division. The entry fee is $15 to play one event and $20 to play two events. Make checks payable to Central Texas College. Payment must be made when turning in entry form at the gym or via mail to CTC P.E. Dept., P.O. Box 1800, Killeen, TX 76540, attn: Tennis Tournament. The entry deadline is April 25. Entry forms are available at the CTC gym (Bldg. 151). |

The CTC Nursing Dept. will host a Nurse Educators Conference, May 15-16, to assist nursing faculty, deans, department chairpersons and directors in their competencies as nursing educators. Workshop subjects include facilitating learning, pursuing continuous quality improvement in the nurse educator role, curriculum designs and evaluation of program outcomes and assessment and evaluation strategies.
Keynote speaker is Donna Ignatavicius, MS, RN, ANEF, president of DI Associates, Inc.
While the conference is designed for nursing educators, it is open to the public. Vendors are also invited to promote their products. |
