Second Tuesday presents Black History “Jeopardy”

The first Second Tuesday at the Library event of the semester will also be a tribute to Black History Month as we play our version of the popular TV game show ‘”Jeopardy.” All topics and questions will involve Black History Month knowledge. The event will be February 9 at 6 p.m. All employees and students are invited to participate. For more information, call ext. 1475.

The library has also obtained a large volume of films entitled “The Race Films DVD Set.” Each DVD contains 12 different shows, shorts or movies made in the early half of the 20th century. Each depicts African-American actors/actresses in serious dramatic roles unlike the roles conspicuously absent from Hollywood movies. During the month of February, a different DVD from the set will be shown every Monday through Friday all day beginning at 7:30 a.m. until closing at 9:30 p.m. The movies will be shown in the main concourse of the library.
