Central Texas College (CTC) recently inducted 15 students to the Tau Beta Chapter of the Sigma Kappa Delta English Honor Society. These students, who were nominated by their instructors, are required to carry at least a 3.0 grade point average in all college-level English classes, successfully completed 30 or more semester hours of college credits and be ranked in the top 30 percent scholastically.

The new inductees are Micah Ables, Ronnie Campbell, Jennifer Dickens, Corey Dutkiewcz, Katryna Harvey, Samantha Ivie, Josefa Jaravalero and Rebecca LaCroix.

Also inducted to the English honor society were Crystal Lillard, Lyndilou Littlefield, Christopher Neiman, Ji Hyeon Ryu, Bethany Sharp, Willie Spiller and Marissa Sousa.

Sigma Kappa Delta is the English honor society for community college students. It was incorporated in 1996 under the auspices of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society serving four-year institutions. Its purpose is to confer distinction upon outstanding students of the English language and literature in undergraduate studies. The organization also recognizes professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature.

Sigma Kappa Delta provides exceptional students opportunities for advancing the study of language and literature, for developing skills in creative and analytical writing and for meeting other outstanding scholars and professionals in the discipline of English.
