Online Courses & CD Rom Courses*
Online courses are offered year-round. CD Rom courses are designed for students located outside the state of Texas and are self-paced. The courses are between 8 and 16 weeks long. Students can complete degree programs online or combine online courses with classroom courses. The courses are available to active duty, retired military and civilians. All management courses are offered on a weekly basis during duty hours to active duty military of rank SPC (P) or above. All courses are worth one semester hour each. A supervision management certificate (basic & advanced) is available. This program consists of 14 computer skills courses worth 1 credit hour each. Most courses are taught during duty hours and are available to active duty military, civilian employees and volunteers on Fort Hood. A Microcomputer Specialist certificate is available to active duty military. For more information, contact the NCO LEAD Office at (254) 532-1505.
This program consists of instruction in reading and/or math to improve the soldier's academic foundation and GT score to qualify for reclassification. It is an open entry/exit program and classes are taught during duty hours. For more information, contact the BSEP Office at (254) 287-9674.
This program consists of English and math classes designed to assist students in preparation for entrance examinations, such as the ASSET or SAT. The courses are taught in an 8-week format during the evenings and are available to active duty, retired military and family members. For more information, contact the BSEP Office at (254) 287-9674.
<Top>Certificate and degree programs are offered in the Hospitality Management field that prepare students for a career in the food services industry. All courses are taught in an 8-week format and are available to active duty, retired military and civilians. Each course is worth 3 semester hours. <Top>Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator*
The courses to become an MCSA are offered through New Horizons in an 18-week time frame in the evenings. They are available to active duty, retired military and civilians. The complete program is worth 18 semester hours. Students have classroom instruction as well as courseware review time. The program is also available via iPod. <Top>These facilities are available for computer use, test preparation, tutoring services and other education-related research. The centers are available to active duty, retired military, and civilians. Centers are located on post in buildings 3201 and 33009. The MOS library is located in building 33009 and offers active duty soldiers the use of field manuals, military online publications, as well as computer use. For more information, contact the MOS Library at (254) 285-5702.
<Top>Troop Schools - Military Skills Enhancement Program
These courses are offered to active duty military and provide military skills enhancement for MOS improvement, job performance, and technical certification. For more information, contact the Troop School Office at (254) 287-4191.
<Top>The ASSET Test and the Placement Test are given to active duty, retired military, and civilians. Active duty soldiers can take the test free of charge at the Education Services Center. Please contact Harmon Hunter at (254) 290-0701 for more information. The ASSET test is available to civilians and retirees for a $20.00 fee at the Fort Hood CTC location. Sessions at 7:15 a.m. & 12:15 p.m. - Computer-based exams allow people who have acquired knowledge outside the usual educational setting-through independent or prior study, on the job training, or cultural pursuits-to show that they have learned college-level material so that they can bypass certain college courses.

CTC FORT HOOD CIVILIAN & RETIREE STUDENTS:
- DURING FT. HOOD CAMPUS REGISTRATION, entrance testing is held weekdays at 7:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. daily, beginning the Wednesday prior to registration and continuing through Registration. During non-registration periods, entrance testing is offered every Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. (EXCEPT - Jan. 21, May 26, Sept. 1, 08). PHOTO ID AND RECEIPT FOR $20.00 REQUIRED. TEST LASTS 3 ½ HOURS.<Top>
The CTC Service Area Campus provides college credit and noncredit classes to the citizens of Central Texas in the following counties: Bell, Burnet, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba and Williamson. These classes are offered on a semester basis. CTC Community Coordinators are located in Brady, Burnet, Gatesville, Hamilton, Lampasas and San Saba. CTC Community Coordinators can assist you with testing, financial aid, registration and other college-related activities. Please contact your CTC Community Coordinator for an appointment.
