Central Texas College was the first college in the United States to offer a 100% online undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management.

Not only does this allow us to access students from across the world, but we also are able to attract faculty with the highest experience and credentials to teach these classes.

The Hotel, Restaurant and Beverage industry does not allow for managers/employees to be allotted the same time period off each week for an 8- to 16-week period to complete college courses in the traditional classroom setting.

By taking classes online, all that is necessary is for a student to log off and return to work during peak periods. All courses are self paced and depending on an individual's experience level, the course can be completed in as short a time as 3 weeks or as long as 8 weeks.

Each course that is completed will result in the awarding of a nationally recognized certificate through the American Hotel & Lodging Association (students must achieve a minimum score of 70% on the final). Should a student fail the final on the first attempt, each student may retake the final at NO COST. Each student is allowed only one retake. The initial exam is used for calculating college grades, while the retake allows for the chance to earn the AH&LA certification.

Each student will need to choose a degree field. Check out this web site to determine which online program you wish to pursue. The primary fields are Hotel Management and Food & Beverage Management. We also have an online degree in Food Service Management, targeting our military food service personnel. Each candidate, upon successfully completing all requirements, will earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. We also have several certificate programs available which act as "stepping stones" toward earning this degree. These certificates also have several certificate and diploma opportunities through the AH&LA.
