CTC students may select from Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science degrees and a variety of certificate programs. Classroom courses, offered in more than 150 locations, and distance learning courses provide many options for study and allow students to start and finish their degree with CTC. Individual CTC locations may offer the full range of degree programs and services or only those identified through local needs assessments or those based on local contractual agreements. These degrees are designed to allow for the transfer of credits earned at Central Texas College to the bachelor degree requirements at most four-year public colleges and universities. Completion of the 42 semester hours of core curriculum in each degree guarantees transferability of the minimum 42 semester credit hours of state-mandated core curricula toward the general education requirements of a bachelor’s degree program at state supported colleges and universities in Texas.
Did you know many of the highest demand occupations DO NOT require a four-year degree? Career and Technology Education is a series of courses, combined with hands-on training, that prepare students for careers.
Two-year programs lead to an Associate of Applied Science degree. Certificates of completion can be completed in less than two years.
Certificate programs are shorter-term and more field-of-study-focused programs. Often, they can be used as building blocks to gain employment while continuing work toward a degree.
For those with full-time jobs or family obligations during the day, CTC offers weekday evening and weekend classes. Open to all current and prospective CTC students; flexible scheduling allows you to mix day, evening, weekend and/or online classes; attend part-time or full-time.
