These programs are designed for students desiring to prepare themselves for a career in residential and commercial air conditioning and refrigeration. They provide entry level, industry validated "hands-on" training using current technologies and equipment.
Studies include air conditioning and refrigeration principles and theory, electrical theory and application, gas and electrical heating, A/C central principles, residential and commercial air conditioning, system design, commercial refrigeration, heat pumps and troubleshooting.
The AAS Degree program includes additional academic courses. The technical content of both programs is the same. Update training is available in either program. Interactive computer aided training is used to enhance some courses. These programs will prepare the student to take the Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Type I, II, III, and Universal Certification tests. These tests are given on Central Campus through the Continuing Education office or through Home Study program.
The instructional staff has an average of 12 years field and teaching experience.
All hold a Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification. Their
technical experience is kept current by attending update seminars, trade shows
and manufacturer training.
