Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree Programs
- All programs have Certificate of Completion options.
- You can take selected courses within a program to improve your technical job skills.
- You can take course groupings out of a program and receive training for specialty
options, i.e., Brake Specialist, Alignment Specialist, Air Conditioning Specialist, Glass
Installer, Hydraulics Specialist, Arc Welder, Pipe Welder, House Painter, Carpenter, Press
Operator, etc.
- Most courses will transfer to a bachelor's degree plan at senior universities offering
industrial technology programs. [Currently, by written agreement Tarleton State University
accepts entire programs in transfer.]
- All programs have an internship option to provide real-world work experiences.
- All tools are furnished in all programs except Auto Body, Welding, and Cosmetology programs.
- Financial Aid and VA benefits are available to all who qualify.
- Tuition assistance is available for active duty military who qualify.
- Scholarships are available on an application and selection basis.

- All programs (except Cosmetology, Heating andAir Conditioning and Truck Driving) are open-entry and self-paced.
- Start when you like except for holidays and closure periods.
- Set your own schedule within times program taught.
- Finish your courses early and earn full credit.
- Take a break between courses and pick up where you left off when you return.
- Schedule classes around your work schedule.
- Select from afternoon or night classes.
- Choose your own system of grading--Pass/Fail or Alpha (A, B, C, D or F).
- All programs except Cosmetology and Professional Truck
Driving have an internship option to provide real-world work experience.
- All tools are furnished (except in Auto Body, Welding, and Cosmetology).
- If you are enrolled in Auto, Diesel, and Auto Collision Repair programs, you may
work on your own vehicle when such work is related to your class and you provide the parts.
Instructor permission to do so is required.
- Level I Certificate programs are currently exempt from the Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) examination.
- Level II Certificate programs may require the THEA examination. Visit a counselor to determine whether you need to take the THEA examination..
