Internet Explorer 8 is the latest browser developed by Microsoft, and will be the default browser for the soon-to-be-released Windows 7 operating system. It features several new additions and offers the user a more secure and faster experience while browsing the Internet.
One of its new features is Suggested Sites which, as its name implies, is a tool that recommends websites to the user based on their viewing choices. Another new addition, called InPrivate, allows you to surf the Internet without your browser storing anything in its browsing history: temporary files, history, cookies, passwords, etc.
Accelerators are a new type of Add-on that allow users to search a word or phrase straight from the webpage they are on, thus eliminating the need to copy and paste a query into a search engine. This Add-on takes advantage of not only search engines, but it also allows the user to search online stores, dictionaries, online maps, and other options with a simple mouse click.
An alternative to bookmarking is the new tool called Web Slices. Users can now select certain parts of a page that they want to be kept up to date with. These “slices” can be viewed straight from the Favorites bar, and are updated automatically by the browser.
IE 8 is now available for download for the Window XP and Windows Vista operating systems.
