Did You Know...

An IT Service Alert is a message disseminated throughout the CTC community via e-mail notifying users that a condition of heightened watchfulness or preparation is necessary for updates, repairs, or planned outages to the IT infrastructure. For example, the IT Customer Service Department issues an IT Service Alert about biweekly upgrades to the Colleague administrative information system.

An IT Service Advisory is a bulletin posted on the IT web site that serves to advise users on existing or predicted conditions with advice for dealing with the issue. For example, the CTC IT Division posts an IT Service Advisory about Web site security certificates used in Internet Explorer and compatibility issues with certain web-based programs that CTC uses.

An IT Service Announcement is a short, formal notice posted on the IT web site notifying users of an enhancement in IT service to the CTC community. For example, when the IT Division installs a new server that improves the performance of the email system, the IT Division issues an IT Service Announcement informing users of the upgrade.
