  1. DISCUSSION

Saving your old emails can take up precious space on the email server and cause IT to defrag the exchange server more often. Archiving can save server space by saving your old emails to your hard drive. AutoArchive can be set to automatically archive your old emails after a certain period of time.

  1. PROCEDURE

 To set AutoArchive options:

  1. Open MS Outlook.

  2. Click Tools and Options.

  3. Select the Other tab.

  4. Click AutoArchive and set AutoArchive options. It is recommended that AutoArchive be set to run every 14 days.

  5. Click Ok.

  6. Click Ok.

  7. To access archived files, check: C:\Documents and Settings\[your username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst.

To view hidden folders, see the Tech Tip “Displaying Hidden Folders”.
