Passwords play a central role in maintaining the security of the CTC communications network. As a precautionary security measure, IT requires CTC employees to change their desktop passwords at regular intervals. CTC computers will prompt CTC employees to change their password 14 days prior to the password expiration date. When creating a new password, users should select a strong password that possesses elements of randomness that cannot be easily guessed but can be easily remembered.
To reset your password:
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del at the same time.
Choose the “Change Password” option.
Enter your current password.
Enter a new password.
The new password must have:
Six or more characters.
A number or symbol.
A capital letter.
Must not have been used before.
Cannot contain the user’s name.
Re-enter the new password to confirm that it is correct.
Click “OK”. You should see a message stating that your password has been successfully changed. If the passwords do not match or the new one is not accepted, you will see a message regarding this, and you will have to repeat the process.
