Some folders are hidden by default to prevent users from modifying or deleting important files accidentally. However, it is sometimes necessary to access hidden folders to make changes to the way your computer operates. For example, see the Tech Tip on “Setting up AutoArchive”. If you are not sure about accessing hidden folders or modifying files, call the Help Desk at extension 3103 for assistance.
To display hidden folders:
Open My Computer.
Click Tools and click Folder Options on the drop-down menu.
- Click the View Tab (see Figure 1).

Under the Hidden files and folders heading, click the “Show hidden files and folders” radio button.
Click Apply.
- Click Ok and close My Computer.
