Wireless Network Connection Instructions

  1. DISCUSSION

The CTC IT Division recently installed wireless access points throughout CTC’s main campus.    Students and guests who have trouble connecting to the network can contact the IT Help Desk (501-3103) for assistance.  The staff at the IT Help Desk will check wireless-enabled laptops for connectivity.  However, the IT Help Desk cannot check or resolve any hardware issues or configure any software on non-CTC equipment.

Students and guests wishing to access the wireless network must register with the IT Division.  Student and guest logins will last for up to thirty (30) days after creating the username and password.  After 30 days, the student or guest will have to log on again with their username and password.  If a student or guest does not log on for seven (7) consecutive days then they will have to re-register.   The steps below provide instruction on how to log in to the wireless network. 

  1. PROCEDURE

To log on to the CTC wireless network:

  1. Activate the wireless-enabled laptop’s wireless connection.  Select the CTC_Student network (see Figure 1).

  1. Open an Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.).  The browser will automatically redirect to the CTC Student Wireless logon page (see Figure 2).

  1.  First time users must read and accept CTC’s Internet Use Agreement to continue (see Figure 3).

    1. Click the “I Accept” checkbox.
    2. Click the “Continue” button.
    1. Complete the Student/Guest form (see Figure 4).  The fields are case-sensitive and do not accept special characters or spaces.

    1. Press Continue once the form is complete.
