Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ's)
How
do I get my I-20?
To
apply for international admission and to receive a Form
I-20 from Central Texas College, international students
must submit the (original) documents available at www.ctcd.edu/international.
What
do I do when I receive my I-20?
After
you have been accepted to Central Texas College as an international
student and have received your Form I-20, the next step
is to contact the U.S. Embassy in your home country. Each
U.S. Embassy will have different requirements in order to
make an appointment with the consulate.
What
are the nearest airports?
The
closest airport to CTC is the Killeen Regional Airport (GRK).
If you choose to take a TAXI, the fare is approximately
$10 US dollars. There is no currency exchange or bank at
the airport, so you must have US currency with you when
you arrive.
Do
you require the TOEFL for international students?
A
score of 520 on the paper-based test, 190 on the computer-based
test, or 68 on the internet-based test is required for admission
into the college credit program. Students native to countries
whose official language is English and whose education has
been in English, are not required to take the TOEFL. If
the applicant is applying for the English-as-a-Second Language

35 countries from around the world.

On campus employment must not exceed 20 hours a week while
school is in session. It is possible to work full-time when

required for each F-1 student applicant.
Is
there any on-campus housing?
Central
Texas College operates an air-conditioned co-ed Residence
Hall for 120 full-time students. Certain rooms have been
equipped to accommodate mobility-impaired students. Rooms
have been recently remodeled and provide safe and comfortable
study and living quarters. Supervision is provided by a
full-time Lead Resident Assistant who is responsible for
daily operations. Residence Hall remains open for students'
convenience during CTC's Thanksgiving holidays and Spring
Break.
Modern
one- and two-bedroom, air-conditioned and carpeted student
apartments located on the Central Campus are available for
married couples and single parents with children. The apartments
are unfurnished but include major kitchen appliances. Washers

Tenants are billed for electricity monthly. Local telephone
is provided at no charge and cable television is available
in each apartment at the tenant's expense. Long distance
charges are the tenant's responsibility.
What
