Barbara Merlo, Director

Barbara started at CTC in fall of 2003 after 15 years as a military spouse with various marketing and recreation jobs with the Army in California, Kansas and Europe. She has an MS in Advertising from Northwestern and a BS in Journalism from Arkansas State University. She enjoys working on special events and community causes.
Bruce Vasbinder, Coordinator

Bruce began his CTC career in the summer of 2004 as the Intramural Sports Director in the Physical Education Department. He joined the Marketing & Outreach team in November 2005 with almost 20 years experience in public/community relations from his tenure with Sprint Corporation. He holds a BBA–Marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington. Bruce is also a CTC part-time physical education instructor.
Sue Payne, Webmaster

Sue began working at CTC in April, 1994, spending the first 5 years as an
Office Specialist for the Dean, Instructional Services. In 1999, after earning
her A.A.S., Computer Science (Business Programmer/Analyst) from CTC, she was
promoted to the position of Assistant Webmaster within the Computer Services
Department (now Information Technology). A September 2003 reorganization moved Sue from the IT Dept into Marketing. She earned her BS Information Technology (BSIT) degree in Dec 2004 and in Dec 2005 was promoted to Webmaster.
Erica Stemmons-White, Assistant Webmaster

Erica joined the Marketing & Outreach team March 2006, with a background in web design and graphic design. She was previously the Web Administrator at a local university in New Orleans, where she received her BA in Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design. In August 2010, she received her MBA from Texas A&M Central Texas.
As a transplant to the Central Texas area from New Orleans, she enjoys spending time with her two young sons.
Donna Duran, Graphic Design Specialist

Donna has been the Graphic Design Specialist with Desktop Publishing since November 1994. She brought with her 10 years of experience as a Technical Illustrator for a national laboratory. When she’s not creating top-notch CTC publications, she stays busy as a single mom raising her three children.
Bobbi Shaw, Computer Graphics Assistant

Bobbi joined the Community Relations and Marketing Department in April 2010 bringing with her five years experience as a graphic designer and an A.A.S. in graphics. Previously, Bobbi worked for three years in the CTC Graphics & Printing Department designing layouts and teaching students to use graphic design software. She has also worked for the Killeen Daily Herald and as a freelance graphic designer. In her spare time Bobbi likes traveling, attending concerts, designing projects and spending time with family and friends.

Kimberley was born in North York, Ontario, Canada and grew up in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Kimberley moved to Central Texas in July 1997 and is proud to call Texas “home.” She began working at Central Texas College in May of 2003 and was promoted to Director, Enrollment Marketing & Outreach in November 2010. She has a BS in Sociology and Minor in Psychology from Texas A & M – Central Texas and is pursuing her Master of Science. In addition to serving on the Board of Heritage House of Central Texas, Kimberley also serves on the GKCC Public Education Committee and her in spare time enjoys volunteering in the community, traveling, spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, and gardening.
Cynthia A. Burrus, Coordinator, NCPACE Recruitment & Retention

Cynthia has spent the past 15 years serving CTC in various capacities. During her tenure, she has assisted international and military students to include members of the Marines and Army. She most recently became a part of the Marketing & Outreach team where she has the opportunity to assist Navy personnel reach their educational goals. She also teaches computer science and business courses through CTC. Cynthia has an M.A. degree in International Relations from St Mary’s University and completed some post-graduate work from Tarleton State University – Central Texas in Computer Information Systems. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling and working with non-profit organizations.
Mariceli Vargas, Coordinator Recruitment Communications

Mariceli recently joined our team in the capacity of Coordinator, Recruitment Communications. For the past six years Mariceli has worked with our Navy Campus in various capacities at San Diego, CA. She has a BBA in Management from the Inter American University Of Puerto Rico and she joined the Marketing and Outreach Department in January 2011.
