KNCT-FM on low power during antenna repairs
June 9, 2014
Public radio station KNCT-FM announced it will temporarily resort to a low-power antenna while repairs are being made to the regular equipment. Crews are currently lowering the damaged antenna this afternoon and will install a temporary one which will enable the station to be heard in the immediate central Texas area including Killeen, Harker Heights, Nolanville, Belton, Temple and Copperas Cove. The temporary low-power antenna will not reach listeners in the Round Rock-Austin area and it is uncertain whether it will reach Georgetown and Salado.
KNCT station manager expects the repairs to take approximately three weeks and the station should return to full power in early July. During the repair time, KNCT-FM will continue to stream online at http://www.knct.org.
