Central Texas College (CTC) will host a new student orientation on Thursday, August 22 in the Anderson Campus Center (Bldg. 156). Check-in and walk-in registration begins at 8 a.m. followed by a welcome from school administrators. The new student orientation is open to all incoming freshmen, other first-time students and parents. Students who were unable to attend the initial orientation on August 1 are encouraged to attend. However, students who attended the August 1 session do not need to attend this orientation.

During the orientation, students will learn valuable information about campus policies, procedures, student services, campus clubs and organizations and general information to help them find their way around campus. Discussion and question/answer panels will be held on financial aid and Blackboard – CTC’s learning management system for online classes. Students will also participate in team building activities and rotating breakout sessions to meet representatives from academic departments, guidance and counseling, campus police, the campus library, tutors from the Academic Studio and other available student services.

A question/answer session with a faculty panel and a student panel consisting of student ambassadors will also be conducted. There will also be a parent session outlining school policies and student service information. Students can then get assistance with completing the admissions process, academic advising to establish their degree plan. The orientation concludes with a campus tour.

To pre-register for the new student orientation, students should call CTC Student Life at 254-526-1258 or register online at http://bit.ly/NSOFall2.
