Central Texas College (CTC) announced registration is open for the fall I term at its Fort Hood campus. The eight-week semester runs October 22 through December 15. Numerous classes in a variety of fields including business administration, computer information technology, hospitality, fine arts, protective services, social and behavioral science, teacher education and communications. Active-duty military personnel using the GoArmyEd portal can register through October 21 while dependents and civilians have until October 25 to register. Numerous core and elective classes are offered in conjunction with the Education Services Division - Soldier Development Center and will be held at the CTC Fort Hood Campus at Bldg. 3200.
Two new course offerings at the Fort Hood campus are Introduction to Business Logistics and Introduction to Materials Handling. Both are blended format classes combining online and classroom studies. The courses are two of the five classes in the new Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management program. It is designed to prepare students for careers in transportation, warehousing, distribution, inventory control, purchasing and international logistics and emerging occupations such as logistics analysts, logistics engineers, logistics managers, customs brokers and billing and posting clerks. The logistics program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree in Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management or students can earn a Global Supply Chain Specialist Level I Certificate of Completion.
Other blended classes offered at the CTC Fort Hood campus are available on Saturdays and include Watercolor (ARTS 2366), Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON 2301), Texas Government (GOVT 2306), United States History II (HIST 1302), Fundamentals of Music I (MUSI 1301) and General Psychology (PSYC 2301).
In addition to its regular slate of classes, CTC is offering a Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP) military transition program. Interested soldiers must be 180 days out form their expiration term of service date and attend a program briefing to pick up a procedural packet. Briefings are held every Tuesday at 1330 at the Copeland Soldiers Service Center, Bldg. 18010 on Battalion Avenue. Classes for the 10-week SAP program are conducted Tuesday through Friday from 0800 to 1600.
Students at the Fort Hood campus must have a degree plan on file before registering. All active-duty personnel not using Tuition Assistance and military dependents must submit a Military Verification Form to be eligible for in-state tuition rates. Walk-in registration and advisement is at Building 3201 on 72nd Street from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
