Job openings

The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting temporary, part-time census takers for the 2010 Census. These short-term jobs offer good pay, flexible hours, paid training and reimbursement for authorized work-related expenses such as mileage incurred while conducting census work. Census taker jobs are excellent for people who want to work part-time, those who are between jobs or just about anyone who wants to earn extra money while performing an important service for their community. For more information, call 1-866-861-2010 or go to http://2010.census.gov/2010censusjobs/.

The Human Resources Department of the Temple VA Hospital is looking to hire eight to 10 veterans on a special program which pays $10.50 per hour. There are no benefits, no paid vacation, no sick leave, but those hired can work up to 40 hours a week, paid every two weeks. This could be a foot in the door for a permanent position with VA Hospital as positions continuously open up as students graduate or get hired permanently. Potential hires have to be going to school at least half-time, maintain a 2.0 GPA and be continuously enrolled. If interested, contact the CTC financial aid/veterans services office at 254-526-1205. They want our office to collect the DD 214, resumes and print out their class schedules.
