The Nurse Entrance Test (NET) is given in Brady from late February until early summer; the duration of testing is dependent on class size. NET results will be sent to the applicant as soon as they are available. The minimum acceptable NET test scores are as follows: math composite of 65% with no more than three subject areas below 70% and a reading composite of 51% on the same test. The test can be repeated as scheduling permits with a cumulative maximum of three test opportunities per applicant.

A second test is required, the ACT ASSET, Accuplacer, or THEA. Please read the separate information form regarding this requirement and testing arrangements. The Brownwood TSTC site is very convenient for applicants in this area.

All applicants who have completed the application documents and passed one of the two required admission tests will receive a letter with an appointment for the first orientation meeting by early June. Individual status will be reviewed at the orientation meeting.

Anyone who completed the NET in previous years and is interested in entrance into the upcoming class needs to contact the staff and complete a new application.

All letters regarding potential status in the Brady Ext. Vocational Nursing Program will come directly from Brady.

APPROXIMATE COST OF THE PROGRAM

The full year of school costs approximately $5000 for persons who have been Texas residents for the last year (the cost is higher for nonresidents). You have been given an Application for Federal Student Aid. Complete the form as soon as possible and send it along with the CTC Welcome Packet and a copy of your tax forms with W2 for this tax year to:

Central Texas College
ATTN: Pearl Creviston, Financial Aid

If you have questions regarding the form call Ms. Creviston at 1-800-792-3348 ex-1833.

In planning your finances for the school year, be aware that the intensity of the school schedule makes it nearly impossible to work another job. The above cost does not include transportation.

NEITHER THE COLLEGE NOR HOSPITALS PROVIDE MEDICAL COVERAGE OR WORKER'S COMPENSATION FOR EMERGENCY ILLNESS OR INJURY. MEDICAL COVERAGE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT.

PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS

The student must achieve 70% or better in each course in the curriculum including clinical in order to progress in the program.
