The NET test is given in Brady every two weeks from late February until early May. Results will be sent to the applicant as soon as they are available. The minimum acceptable NET test scores are as follows: math composite of 65% with no more than 3 subject areas below 70% and a reading composite of 51% on the same test. The test can be repeated as scheduling permits. Test scores must be submitted by May 28 if the test is taken at another site (you need to arrange this).

A second test is required, the ACT ASSET, Acuplacer or THEA. Please read the separate information form regarding this requirement and testing arrangements.

Once all scores are available the group of candidates for interview will be chosen. A maximum of 25 applicants will be interviewed. All applicants will receive a letter with an interview appointment or status report by early June. The interviews will be conducted in mid June.

All letters regarding potential status in the Brady Ext. Vocational Nursing Program will come directly from Brady. Selection of the class and 3 alternates will be made and the applicants will be notified by letter.

APPROXIMATE COST OF THE PROGRAM

The full year of school costs approximately $5000 for persons who have been Texas residents for the last year (the cost is higher for non-residents). You have been given an Application for Federal Student Aid. Complete the form as soon as possible and send it along with the CTC Welcome Packet and a copy of your tax forms with W2 for the previous tax year to: Kristine Van Wyngarden, Financial Aid, Central Texas College, PO Box 1800, Killeen, TX 76540-1800. If you have questions regarding the form call Ms. Van Wyngarden at 1-800-792-3348 ex-1833. Next to your name on the Welcome Packet put BRADY VN.

In planning your finances for the school year be aware that the intensity of the school schedule makes it nearly impossible to work another job. The above cost does not include transportation.

NEITHER THE COLLEGE NOR HOSPITALS PROVIDE MEDICAL COVERAGE OR WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION FOR EMERGENCY ILLNESS OR INJURY. MEDICAL COVERAGE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT.

PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS

The student must achieve 70% or better in each course in the curriculum including clinical in order to progress in the program.
