YOUR CTC FINANCIAL AID
FAFSA or TASFA? Which financial aid application should you use?
There are many different applications for people with different statuses. Choose the one that best applies to you:
|Permanent U.S. resident with an Alien Registration Card (I-551)||FAFSA|
|Conditional permanent U.S. resident with visa type I-551C||FAFSA|
|Eligible noncitizen with an Arrival/Departure Record (I-94) showing one of the following:
- Asylum granted
- Parolee (for a minimum of one year), or
- Cuban-Haitian entrant
|If none of these apply to you but you are classified by the Admissions Office as a Texas resident and therefore are eligible to pay the Texas in-state tuition rate.
To use the TASFA application, your classification as a Texas resident must not be due to a waiver such as military exemption.
Central Texas College participates in numerous financial aid programs designed to assist students who demonstrate financial need. If you plan to participate in the various programs for financial aid, you must comply with CTC's rules and regulations, as well as those of the program itself, to retain eligibility for the programs.
Federal regulations require financial aid recipients make satisfactory academic progress (SAP) toward their current certificate or degree objective. Academic transcripts are monitored and financial aid will be denied when a student falls below the probationary status as defined in the current CTC Catalog.
Priority deadlines: Your Financial Aid File must be completed and an award accepted by:
- Fall: June 1
- Spring: November 1
- Summer: April 1
Applications will be accepted and processed after these dates, however you may experience delays in processing. If you choose to register before your file is completed, you will be responsible for payment at time of registration. All applications will be processed in order of receipt in the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
