NCPACE logoThe Navy College Program for Afloat College Education (NCPACE) integrates all components of Voluntary Education by providing an opportunity for educational advancement ashore and at sea. NCPACE gives sailors on sea duty the opportunity to take challenging college courses, tuition free. NCPACE courses are provided by regionally accredited colleges and universities. The program includes instructor-led and distance learning programs.

Distance Learning (DL)

Beginning October 1, 2017, students will have access to register for more than 50 CTC courses through NCPACE. These courses will not require any internet connectivity during any part of the course. Courses are available leading to degrees in general studies, applied technology, applied management, business management, criminal justice and homeland security. CTC awards up to 45 credit hours for military training and experience.

Browse our distance learning catalog for a full list of NCPACE-approved courses, indicated by "Online-MM" in the delivery method column.

Instructor-led (IL)

CTC offers face-to-face academic classes aboard ship that offer sailors an opportunity to get transferable college credit, with all tuition costs covered by the Navy. The sailor pays for textbooks and other course materials. Courses offered include English, math, history, government and speech based on the needs of the Navy.
