A Message from the Chief Diversity Officer
It is an honor and privilege to serve as Central Texas College’s first Chief Diversity Officer. I look forward to working with you to create and sustain an inclusive learning and working environment for the college’s global community.
My goal is to establish and build a diversity, equity, and inclusion program that remains with the institution for decades to come. Therefore, it is imperative that we lay a firm foundation on which others can continue to build for the benefit of our present and future CTC students, faculty, and staff.
I recognize that our work begins during one of the most distressful times in our nation’s history. We are in the midst of a deadly pandemic that has also severely impacted our economy and people’s livelihood. To further exacerbate our current circumstances, the country is dealing with racism, sexism, xenophobia and poverty – issues that result in division, exclusion and isolation, devastating those who are impacted.
As dire the situation at this moment in time, I believe that as an institution who practices diversity, equity and inclusion, Central Texas College is positioned to be a catalyst for change and healing on our campuses and within our communities. I am confident that we will rise to the occasion and make long lasting and impactful change.
