We have three full-time professors based in our office. We also have adjunct professors who teach online classes.

Our full-time faculty

Marlene Henry, ProfessorProfessor Henry completed a Bachelor’s of Science degree in sociology with a minor in social work from Tarleton State University in Killeen, Texas in 2006. She received her master’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology from Tarleton State University/Texas A&M University-Central Texas in 2010. She served as an administrative specialist in the United States Army for eight years. This included tours of duty in Korea (NCO Academy, Camp Jackson), Germany (7th Signal Brigade, Mannheim, Germany) and Fort Hood (TEXCOM). She started her career at CTC in the file room in Human Resources and currently is a full-time professor. Fletcher and her family currently reside in the central Texas area. She is an active participant in her church and her community.


Bertha Genna Kondrak, ProfessorProfessor Kondrak has been with CTC since 2003. She began as adjunct faculty, moving to full-time faculty in 2005. She came to CTC with an extensive mental health background. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Professor Kondrak then worked for years in residential treatment in a direct care, case manager and supervisory capacity. In 1984, she received her Master of Science degree in social work (MSSW) from the University of Texas at Austin then became licensed in the State of Texas at the highest level as a clinical social worker (LCSW). In 1989, she started her private practice as a psychotherapist. She maintains this practice today on a part-time basis. During this time frame, she also participated in contract work with various psychiatric hospitals, school districts, workshops and training facilities. Kondrak came to CTC with the academics and the experiential knowledge to teach theory and application to our mental health students. In addition to teaching in mental health services, she is active in numerous committees on campus. She is a member and serves as secretary of the of CTC Faculty Senate and is a member of Professional Development where she recently served as president. In her spare time she enjoys traveling.


Dr. Robin BeauregardDr. Beauregard completed a BBA in management and a M.Ed. in guidance and counseling from Tarleton State University. After receiving her LPC and working in the field for many years, she returned to school at Trinity College of the Bible and completed her D.Min. in biblical counseling. Her career in mental health started in 1990 and has included working at two different residential treatment centers, a geripsych day program, a charter school, private practice and contract work for the Department of Defense. Dr. Beauregard joined CTC as an adjunct faculty member in 1996. She is a licensed professional counselor and a licensed chemical dependency counselor and teaches several classes in the LCDC program. She received the CTC Faculty Senate Annual Recognition for professional development for 2010-2011 and currently serves on the Faculty Senate and Department of Nursing Professional Development committees. Dr. Beauregard has researched and used animal-assisted counseling extensively throughout her career and remains very active in this line of counseling.



Our Adjunct Faculty

 

Photo of Dr. Renee HenryDr. Henry’s career began at Texas Instruments in 1978 where she held several positions including human resources assistant. She began her academic career in 1992 which culminated with a Master’s of Science degree in social work (MSSW) in 1997. Dr. Henry was employed with Correctional Services Corporation for five years as an assistant warden. Central Texas Youth Services Bureau afforded an opportunity to serve as program director for Project F.U.T.U.R.E. She then served as a field supervisor for CTC while employed for Correction Services Corporation program. This opportunity eventually led to full-time employment. Being employed at CTC has enabled Dr. Henry to sit on several committees including the Wounded Warrior program, engage in community service and take part in developing Learning Frameworks. Acceptance to a doctorate program at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor began in August 2009 and culminated with a doctorate in leadership administration (Ed.D) in May 2012.


Lolita GilmoreMs. Gilmore matriculated at Trident International University, Cypress, CA, (B.S, health education, concentration-substance abuse); Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ, (M.S, addiction counseling); and is currently attending North Central University, Phoenix, AZ, (doctorate of psychology in mental health practice). She is passionate about rebuilding broken lives, restoring lost ambition and coaching people to maximize their fullest potential. Her terrain of service expands from working with inner-city youth to the dismal corridors of our nation’s military. Upon retiring as a master sergeant in the United States Army, her roles were served as leader, instructor, minister, counselor, life skills coach and staff trainer for more than 21 years. Her military contributions and humanitarian services extend to various stateside locations and the international community with two 15-month combat tours in Iraq, a three-year tour in Germany and a year-long tour in the Republic of Korea. Community service works include founder and executive director for Teach Them To Love Outreach Ministries, Killeen, TX; Women of Transformation in Philadelphia, PA; volunteer services with Central Texas Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse in Killeen, TX; licensed minister under Bishop Nathaniel Holcomb; volunteer services with the Refuge Corporation of Copperas Cove, TX; and Family Advocacy Program Victim Advocate and Substance Abuse Program on Fort Hood, TX. Lolita has been married for 20 years with three beautiful children.


Dr. Jennifer HixsonDr. Hixson hails from upstate New York. She spent the first four years out of high school on active duty with the Army and then transitioned to the National Guard where she finished her bachelor's degree with Northwestern University, LA majoring in psychology. She then moved to California where she obtained a doctorate degree in general clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Hixson has recently settled in Tennessee with her husband, Tim, and two children, Coty and Laredo. She is a licensed clinical and school psychologist who specializes in infant mental health and complex/relational trauma. She is also well-versed in spectrum-based disorders and has recently obtained her board-certified behavior analyst certification.


Virginia LucasMs. Lucas received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Texas A&M University in 1996. In 1998, she earned a Master of Science degree in social work from the University of Texas. After earning an LMSW, she began working as a coordinator of a summer school program for at-risk children for the Bloomington school district in Minnesota. Lucas has previously worked as a lead counselor at Phoebe’s Home in Bryan, a public educator with the Montrose Counseling Center and shelter director at Our Lady of the Angels Maternity Shelter in Temple. In 2002, Lucas also began working for CTC as an adjunct faculty member teaching psychology and social work courses. For the past 12 years, she has loved working with students who want to learn more about the helping professions.


Tiffani MappProfessor Tiffani Mapp is from Austin, TX has been with Central Texas College since 2015 as an Adjunct Professor in the Mental Health Services Department and in 2016 as an Adjunct Psychology Professor in the Social & Behavioral Sciences Department for the Evening & Weekend College. She received an Associates of Science Degree in Music from Southwestern Christian College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from Oklahoma Christian University of Sciences and Arts, a Master of Criminal Justice Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Central Texas, a Post-Masters in Counseling from Tarleton State University-Central Texas, and pursued a PhD in Counseling Studies from Capella University between 2004-2010. She is a Certified School Counselor EC-12, Special Education Teacher PK-12, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern, and is a Certified Therapeutic Life Coach in the following specialties: Mindfulness, Meditation, Yoga, Life Story, Life Purpose. In addition, she is a Certified Vegan Nutrition Health Coach.

Professor Mapp is a second-generation Professional School Counselor for 19 years and served briefly in Counselor Administration, and have been in the field of Education at every educational level including Higher Education for 27 years. In addition, she is a former Guidance Counselor at Central Texas College and a Student Success Coordinator for the School of Social Sciences at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. During her career, she served on Texas Education Agency (TEA) School Counseling Committees and as a Professional School Mentor, Trainer, Supervisor, and Contributing Author in Professional School Counselor Program Development and Curriculum. Prior to working in the field of Education, she was a Special Education Teacher at every educational level, in the Social Work field as a CPS Specialist for Texas Department of Protective & Regulatory Services in Waco, TX and a Case Manager for Communities in Schools, Inc. in Temple, Texas.

Professor Mapp is a visionary creative and designed a life purpose of music and wellness to serve others. She is an International Independent Neo-Soul Artist-Songwriter-Producer (“Tiffani Michelle”)with six studio albums and 13 music projects. Her music plays internationally and has been featured in Hospitals in the United Kingdom. She has been featured on Radio Shows and with Medical and Psychiatry experts in the United Kingdom discussing topics on the following areas: Music Therapy, Psychology, Counseling, and Self Care Wellness. She was selected by Forbes as a member of the Forbes Women’s Forum, and has been featured on her life work in Voyage Austin. Currently, she has written the Forward to ‘Bouncing Back’ the second book by Britsh-Trinindad Author H. Michelle Johnson. Currently, she is the Owner of DIAMOND Therapeutic Wellness, a practice that specializes in Self Care Wellness utilizing Therapeutic Music and Complementary Alternative Medicine and is a Middle School Counselor in Austin ISD in Austin, Texas.


Tara Wallace

Ms. Wallace received a Bachelor of Science degree in liberal studies (psychology emphasis) with a minor in sociology from Excelsior College in Albany, NY in 2010. She received a master’s degree in social work from Washburn University in 2013. Her relationship with the Mental Health Services department began as a student in January 2006, employment as office assistant in November 2007 and now as an adjunct faculty member in August 2014. Wallace works as a community outreach specialist for Family Service and Guidance Center in Topeka, KS. She has a passion for working with children and adolescents, especially those with trauma history. She is currently pursuing her LSCSW and completing research to develop an evidenced-based program focused on mental health issues in elementary school-aged children. Wallace serves as a member of the Topeka/Shawnee County Suicide Prevention Coalition which provides community resources and access to information regarding suicide prevention. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering, reading and crocheting.





Staff

Crystal MontoyaMs. Montoya started her career with CTC in 2011 as a Part-Time Lab Assistant with the Math Express. She then worked as a clerk for CTC’s Online High School (formerly API) for a little over two years before working as the Office Assistant II for Mental Health Services. Ms. Montoya has been with MHS since September of 2017.
