All deadlines reflect the optimal (preferred time frame not absolute time frame) time to submit your application. Applications are accepted throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis until all seats are filled.

Optimal application deadline for EMT/Basic

  • Fall - August 1
  • Spring - December 1

  • Complete and Submit the digital EMS program Application

EMS Program Application 

  • Submit High School/GED transcripts and all previous official college and/or university transcripts to the CTC Records and Registration Department. For more information please visit Incoming Transcripts


Submit the following directly to the EMS Program, you can bring them in person, scan and email to  the EMS Program, or fax to 254-526-1765

  •  Copy of Texas State and/or National Registry EMT-Basic Certification (Paramedic applicants only)

 

  •  Proof of CPR certification through AHA
  •  Submit a physical exam completed within 6 months prior to course start date using the following form 

Physical Exam Form

  •  Provide results of an 11 panel drug screen and Background check within 6 months prior to course start date. 

Drugscreen, Background Information

  • Provide proof of mandatory immunizations to program 
  • One dose of rubella vaccine after the 1st birthday and one dose of mumps vaccine administered after the 1st birthday and 2 doses of measles vaccine administered on or after their 1st birthday and at least 30 days apart or immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (titer)
  • Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Pertussis booster within 10 years
  • Hepatitis B series (takes 6 months to complete)
  • Tuberculosis Documentation of negative screening results for tuberculosis (TB. Students must complete one of the following TB tests no more than 30 days prior to the program start date: 2-Step Tuberculin Skin Test; QuantiFERON®-TB Gold InTube test (QFT-GIT or Q-Gold) or T-SPOT®TB test (T-Spot) and annually thereafter.
  • Proof of varicella (chicken pox) vaccination or immunity. For immunity, you must turn in a titer showing the acquired immunity
  • Proof of meningitis vaccine (IF under the age of 22)

Once you have turned in all of the above, you will receive an emailed acceptance letter. Once you receive that letter complete the below.

  • Complete the EMS Program Success Camp through Blackboard
  • Take Acceptance letter / schedule to book store to purchase CTC EMS Program Shirt and text book for course, or order online through www.ctcbookstore.com
