Once you successfully pass the CPB exam, you are certified by this entity as a biller.
Professional Statement (Medical Billing & Coding): Upon completion of the Medical Billing and Coding programs at Central Texas College, you are prepared to sit for the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam and the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Certified Coding Specialist, Physician-based (CCS-P) exam. Once you successfully pass one of these national exams, you are certified by AAPC or AHIMA as a coder. It is recommended that you check with employers in your area to find out which certification is preferred in your location. More information regarding these certifications and registering to take the exams can be found at aapc.com and ahima.org. There is no affiliation agreement between Central Texas College and AAPC or AHIMA.
