Web accessibility is an essential part of a good website. This web page is designed to give system users a guide to ensure their web content is available and usable for as many site visitors as possible.
CMS System Users
- Should be meaningful
- Should adequately describe the page content
- Should be unique for every page
- Will be displayed in most web browsers' title bar
- First thing read by screen readers
- Will return in the search engine results

- Position most important information at the top of the page
- Ensure the text content is readable and understandable

- Captioning should be available when linking to videos or audio

- Use important keywords in the alternative text description

- Use the image to support the content
- Avoid using large images on a page

- The image presents content
- The image has a function (links)
- When descriptive text is replaced with null or ""
- The image content is conveyed within surrounding text
- The image has not function
- The image is used for decoration - the image serves not purpose by not conveying a meaning
In the Image Properties window within the Alternative Text field include the descriptive text for the image.
