Emergency Alert Examples - Interior Building

Please familiarize yourself with the examples of sirens and message types that we broadcast in the event that there is an emergency on campus.
Evacuation
You will first hear a siren (see #1) followed by a message.
Siren: Fire alarm beeping…Fire alarm beeping in triplets
Message:
This is an emergency, evacuate immediately
Do not stop to collect belongings; Do not use elevators
Close but do not lock doors
Go to your meeting location, 300 feet from the building
Wait for the all clear signal to be given
Lockdown
You will first hear a siren (see #16) followed by a message.
Siren: Fire alarm whooping and rising x3
Message:
Attention Attention Attention
Begin lockdown procedures immediately
Lock all exterior and interior doors
Hide out, spread out, and take cover
Remain in place until the all clear signal is given
Test
You will hear a message.
Message:
This is a test of our mass notification system
You are not required to react to the alarm
This is only a test
Toxic Spill
You will hear a message.
Message:
This is an emergency
Shelter in place, a hazardous condition exists outside
Remain inside, close windows and doors, and shut off all ventilation systems
Remain indoors until the all clear signal is given
Weather
You will first hear a siren followed by a message.
Message:
An emergency severe weather alert has been issued
Seek shelter in an interior room or hallway with no windows
Remain indoors until the all clear signal is given
All Clear - Situation/Event
You will hear a message.
Message:
May I have your attention please
The emergency condition has been cleared
You may now return to normal operations
All Clear - Drill
You will hear a message.
Message:
Attention, this is the conclusion of our drill
Your building is deemed safe and clear for re-entry
You may now return to normal operations
