Central Texas College Celebrates Black History Month with Special Events

Killeen, TX – February 18, 2025 – Central Texas College (CTC) is proud to celebrate Black History Month with two special events that highlight the contributions, impact, and stories of Black leaders. The events aim to educate, inspire, and engage the community in meaningful discussions and reflections.

Event 1: “What If??” – A Play that Personifies Impactful Black Historical LeadersPlay - What If

  • Location: Hobby Memorial Library, Central Texas College (Building 240)
  • Cost: Free Admission

CTC invites the community to a thought-provoking play titled “What If??” This unique performance imagines a conversation between influential Black historical leaders, bringing their voices to life in a compelling way. The play is presented by Dianna Ramos, an ESOL Professor at CTC, and her students, offering an engaging and educational experience that reflects on the legacies of these historical figures.

Event 2: Mayborn Science Theater Special Screening of Devotion Movie Devotion

  • Location: Mayborn Science Theater, Central Texas College (Building 267)
  • Cost: $6 per ticket

The Mayborn Science Theater will host a special screening of Devotion, the inspiring film based on the true story of two heroic pilots during the Korean War. The movie highlights themes of friendship, sacrifice, and resilience, making it a fitting tribute to the strength of Black historical figures.
