Central Texas College (CTC) will welcome students to the fall 2019 semester during the first week of classes, August 26-29, with Welcome Week activities. Several events are planned to help students find their way around campus, introduce them to student life and make their first week of college life a memorable one.
Welcome Week kicks off Monday, August 26 with Popcorn, Maps, Class Schedules and HELP. Students can stop by the library, the Academic Studio (Bldg. 106 – upstairs) and the Student Lounge (Bldg. 106 – downstairs) to pick up campus maps, enjoy popcorn, get help with their class schedules and other assistance. They can also have their first day of school photos taken in the Student Lounge from 12 - 2 p.m.
On Tuesday, August 27, the library will host a financial literacy presentation, a scavenger hunt and other fun activities from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 28 is open mic day in the Student Lounge from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. During this time, students can share their singing, poetry, storytelling and other vocal talents.
Welcome Week concludes Thursday, August 29 with the Welcome Bash from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Anderson Campus Center (Bldg. 156). Students can meet representatives from numerous Student Services departments, academic departments, campus clubs and organizations to get answers to any questions or needed assistance. The theme for this year’s Welcome Bash is “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” and numerous games, music, food and other activities will be a part of the event.
