CALLING ALL GHOSTS AND GOBLINS: CTC’S ANNUAL FALL CARNIVAL, HAUNTED HOUSE SET FOR OCT. 20-21
Community invited to join spooky fun that will benefit scholarships
KILLEEN, TX — Central Texas College will host its annual community-wide Fall Carnival and Haunted House from 6-11 p.m. on October 20-21.
“The students in our clubs and organizations, who host this event, look forward to it every year,” said Mariceli Santiago, director of student life and activities. “It’s such a fun way to bring our local community together on campus and show them a spooky time.”
The event is open to the public and offers activities for the entire family including games, costume contests and food. The $5 haunted house will be held outside the Mayborn Science Theater. Games and carnival activities are inside. Tickets, starting at 50 cents, can be purchased onsite.
Ten percent of the proceeds will benefit the CTC Foundation scholarship program. Other proceeds will help fund campus clubs and organizations.
“It’s a double win, as far as I’m concerned,” Santiago said. “Our community can enjoy a great event and our students have the experience of serving our local community. It’s a fantastic partnership.”
On Oct. 20, youngsters can collect candy during the “Trunk-or-Treat” event in the Mayborn Science Theater parking lot from 6-8 p.m. A series of Halloween-themed laser light shows will be shown inside the theater starting at 6 p.m. with “Laser Fright Light.” At 7 p.m. are the winning entries in the student horror film contest followed by the 2023 movie “Haunted Mansion” at 8 p.m.
On Oct. 21, the laser light show “Halloween Spooktacular” and “Dinosaur Passage to Pangaea” will run at 6 and 7 p.m. followed by “Laser Halloween” at 8 p.m. “Laser HallowScream” will conclude the evening at 9 p.m. Tickets for all shows – $7 for adults and $6 for children – can be purchased at the door.
