CTC Guest Artist Concert Features Texas Native with Passion for Opera, Musical Theatre
CTC GUEST ARTIST CONCERT FEATURES TEXAS NATIVE WITH PASSION FOR OPERA, MUSICAL THEATRE
Vocalist Mikaela Pace to perform Nov. 28
KILLEEN, TX — The Central Texas College Fine Arts department will host a guest artist concert featuring vocalist Mikaela Pace and collaborative pianist Jeffrey Peterson at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 28 in the Anderson Campus Center.
Pace, a soprano with a passion for performing operatic and musical theatre repertoires, is a native Texan with music degrees from Baylor University and Texas Tech University. She has performed with Red River Lyric Opera, Matador Opera Workshop, Music in the Marche, Baylor Opera Theatre, Texas Tech Opera Theatre, Waco Civic Theatre and Lubbock Moonlight Musicals.
Peterson, a pianist, has performed on five continents during his career and taught at multiple universities. He currently serves as an associate professor of vocal coaching at Baylor University. Peterson spent five years as the resident conductor for Louisiana Opera and is the founder of Music in the Marche, a summer study program for aspiring young singers in Mondavio, Italy.
“Music can improve quality of life in so many ways,” Celinda Hallbauer, CTC’s music program coordinator, said. “It’s an honor to be able to bring artists of this caliber to CTC and share their talents with our local community.”
Tickets for the guest artist concert are $5 and can be purchased at the door with cash. Proceeds benefit the CTC Concert Series Music Scholarship Fund.
