CTC to Host New Student Orientation
CTC TO HOST NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
Virtual session will introduce services available to help students be successful
KILLEEN, TX — Central Texas College will hold a virtual new student orientation from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Oct. 12 to acquaint students with the campus and services available to help them be successful. Prospective students considering whether to apply to CTC are also welcome to attend.
“New Student Orientation is a fun, interactive way for us to welcome new students to CTC,” Mariceli Santiago, director of Student Life & Activities, said. “It’s how we introduce students to the people and departments that are here to serve them during their educational journey with us. Our job is to help students be successful, which starts with making sure they know all the resources available to them.”
During the orientation, students will learn about CTC’s student email system, EagleMail; the school’s online learning management system, Blackboard; financial aid, scholarship and grant opportunities; academic advising; tips for being successful in class; safety and security; Title IX; and student and academic services.
A faculty panel will also be held to give students the opportunity to ask questions and learn from instructors about classes, academic programs and more. The discussion will be followed by a general question-and-answer session to address any student concerns.
