Academic Standing
-
Academic Good Standing occurs when a student’s cumulative GPA remains at or above a 2.0 GPA.
-
Unsatisfactory Academic Progress occurs when a student’s GPA falls below 2.0 during their initial seven (7) semester hours. Students are notified via EagleMail and provided student support services.
-
Academic Probation occurs when a student’s GPA falls below 2.0 after their first seven (7) semester hours. Students are notified via EagleMail, must complete a Probation Agreement with their advising office prior to their next enrollment, and are provided student support services.
-
Academic Suspension occurs if a student fails to earn a 2.0 GPA during their semester of probation and whose cumulative GPA is less than 2.0. Students are suspended for one long semester or both summer semesters. Students are permitted to appeal their semester of suspension.
-
Academic Dismissal occurs if a student returns after a semester of suspension and does not earn a term GPA of 2.0 or above and their cumulative GPA remains below 2.0. Students in this scenario will be placed on Academic Dismissal for two long semesters (Fall/Spring) or one long semester (Spring) and the following summer sessions (both). Students are not permitted to appeal Academic Dismissal.
