This course will provide entry-level project managers with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully complete the Project Management Institute’s nationally recognized Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam. This credential is considered the standard of excellence in the field of project management and is often a required credential in the field. This comprehensive course will use learning activities, practice exams, and assignments to help students prepare for, and successfully complete, the CAPM exam.
This course provides participants with practical guidance on how projects are managed with processes that align with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), 6th Edition. You'll find out what components of your project management background will be tested so you know where to focus your attention during the vital weeks of preparation.
To be eligible for the CAPM certification, you must first meet specific education and experience requirements and agree to adhere to a code of professional conduct. PMI's education requirements will be fulfilled by successfully completing the course, but the experience requirements are extensive, and can be referenced more specifically at www.pmi.org.
The final step in becoming a CAPM is passing a multiple-choice examination designed to objectively assess and measure your project management knowledge. Your instructor, a certified CAPM / PMP, will review materials from the PMBOK® Guide and test preparation techniques. Your instructor will also help you become familiar with the makeup and format of the exam.
