Juliet Pailes Juliet Pailes lives in Hemet, California, about an hour northeast of San Diego, and has been working at Central Texas College since 2003.  Her Bachelor’s and Master’s level degrees are from California State University, Northridge in Child Development and Educational Psychology and Counseling with an Early Childhood emphasis. Currently, she is in a Ph.D. program at New Mexico State University. Her degree work is focused in Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction and an Early Childhood emphasis. She is researching parent engagement in the 4-year-old public school classroom, expecting to graduate in 2020. 
 
Juliet has been a director of two preschools, a college instructor at three different colleges, a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children for many years as a public policy board member, and a California Association for the Education of Young Children state-level sponsored public policy intern. Juliet has also worked as a grant writer and fieldwork student supervisor. She continues to work as a curriculum designer and content developer for CTC as needed. 

Currently, for the California Association for the Education of Young Children’s Inland Empire Affiliate, she works to improve early care through advocacy and service to her local community as a secretary and public policy chair. For the state level California Association for the Education of Young Children, Juliet is a participant in the wider state-level public policy board, working to ensure that state-level legislators craft legislation that improves the lives of families across the entire state of California. 

Juliet looks forward to working with all CTC Child Development students for many years to come, for college teaching is her passion and life’s vocation. It remains her singular mission to provide service by fostering a love of learning in those who regularly engage with children and families. She enjoys having the opportunity to teach online so she can work with students around the world and interact in a learning community which enhances the lives of children and families across the globe.
