Hello, my name is Laura D. Lamper, the Online Cordinator for the CTC Child Development Program and Teacher Education. I started in the field as a preschool teacher, then a parent educator, and I have taught at the college level for 27 years. I believe children are our nation’s most precious resource and I am a strong advocate for children’s rights and healthy childhood. I earned my Ph.D. in Child Development from Texas Woman’s University, and I am a lifelong learner. My Master’s degree is from University of North Texas in Human Development and Family Studies, and I earned a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University in Early Childhood Education and Human Development. I enjoy sharing “tools” of the trade with parents and teachers because when they understand childhood, they change lives irrevocably.
My family is my pride and joy. I have a son who is a Captain and Pilot in the Air Force. He and his wife just blessed me with my first grandson! I have a daughter who is a Lieutenant in the Navy. I enjoy living in the country with many farm animals, including a longhorn, and on the weekends I enjoy long Jeep rides, camping, and kayaking with my husband.
