"It is the mission of the Central Texas College Police Department to create a partnership between the college community and the Campus Police by maintaining a safe, secure and positive environment for all employees, students, faculty and guests. This alliance shall be forged with professional and dedicated service."

The safety, welfare and quality of campus life is a reflection of the commitment of each member of the campus community. The Central Texas College (CTC) Police Department (CTCPD) is proud of its role as a member of the campus community in delivering quality law enforcement service.

It is the prime objective of our department to provide a safe environment for every individual who comes on our campus. We are constantly striving to compliment the educational activities of our campus and as the campus community grows and changes we grow and change to meet the challenging needs of our community thru teamwork, improvements, and innovations. In accomplishing our mission, we are guided by these principles:

  • Skillful enforcement of the law
  • Maintain a high level of professional competence
  • Strive for innovations that will make campus life safer
  • Develop a cooperative relationship with all members of the campus community

Our success and effectiveness will be measured by the absence of criminal activity and an increased level of respect for our efforts. The campus police is a department under the direction of the Associate Deputy Chancellor of Construction and Facilities and Deputy Chancellor of Finance and Administration Divisions. The department employs seven (7) state certified police officers, four Safety and Security Officers (SSO) and two non-commissioned support personnel. All CTC police officers are licensed and certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) as meeting the minimum training requirements of the state for peace officers. They are certified licensed officers with the same authority as a municipal officer.

To be certified, CTC officers must complete 40 hours of in-service training bi-annually, including cultural diversity training. The campus police maintain continuous patrol, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All officers commissioned by the governing board of the CTCD shall enforce appropriate rules and regulations of the campus for the orderly conduct of the institution in carrying out its purposes and objectives or the right of separate jurisdiction relating to the conduct of its students and personnel.

Vision Statement

The Central Texas College Police Department is committed to providing professional protection services to the campus community. We have a commitment to serve and protect everyone we come into contact with regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, disability, or gender. The Department shall be recognized for its community service programs and will strive to prevent crime through progressive, high visibility, professional policing.
