Killeen, TX- The Central Texas College (CTC) Fine Arts Department will host a guest artist concert featuring Liam Osburn on the French horn, Nathaniel Matthews on the saxophone, and Donna Kennedy as the collaborative pianist, on Tuesday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Anderson Campus Center.
"This is an invitation to hear the beautiful music composed by Johannes Brahms, Maurice Ravel, and Jane Vignery," coaxes Celinda Hallbauer, Chair and Music Program Coordinator at CTC.
Liam Osburn is a dedicated horn player currently serving in the U.S. Army Band. His music career has taken him throughout the country and across Europe. He has performed with notable ensembles including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Harrisburg Symphony, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, and the New York Ballet Company. Osburn has also conducted and played in various Broadway musicals and tours, such as Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Mean Girls, Shrek the Musical, Big Fish, Sister Act, Company, Spamalot, and Something Rotten.
Nathaniel Matthews is from Ellijay, Georgia, and moved to Killeen with his wife, Shannon Matthews, as a member of the 1st Cavalry Division Army Band. He received his bachelor’s degree in music education at the University of Tennessee Martin and a master’s in music performance at the University of South Carolina. Nathaniel was a featured soloist as the University of Tennessee Martin Concerto Competition Winner in 2020, and winner of the South Carolina Music Teachers National Association in 2023.
Donna Kennedy holds a Master of Music Education from Tarleton State University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Music from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Donna serves as adjunct music faculty and collaborative pianist at Central Texas College, Killeen. She is the worship leader at Lifeway Fellowship Church in Killeen. Donna also has a songwriter album, Until Sunset, in progress with a tentative release date in Spring 2025.
