To ensure you receive proper training and can complete your flight courses on time, we've established an Aviation Selection Board. This board will review all applications for our flight program courses and select candidates to begin flight training two months before the semester registration opens for your desired start date.

New Student Applicant Information

In our program, students are encouraged to pursue the completion of an associate degree in aviation science, rather than focusing solely on obtaining individual pilot licenses without a degree.

CTC Flight Courses Entry Requirements

  1. Minimum GPA of 2.5 or equivalent.
  2. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation from:
    • Professionals
    • Teachers
    • Employers
  3. One (1) Essay (College Level):
    • APA Format
    • No specific length required
      • Why should you be part of the CTC Aviation Program?
      • Why do you want to be a commercial pilot?
      • Do you bring any special skills or abilities to the program?
      • What is your availability to fly Monday through Sunday?
  4. First or Second-Class Medical Certificate.

Preferred Items

Preferred:

  • Certificate of completion from an online home study course covering the ground school for the flight course you're registering for.
    • Available for purchase online or through the CTC Bookstore.
  • Copy of your FAA written exam results for the flight course you're enrolling in.
    • Must be unexpired (less than 2 years).
